Bring a Water Bowl
Restaurants are only allowed to use disposable dishes and glasses such as styrofoam cups, so you should never share your own dishes with your pup at a restaurant. Instead, bring along a collapsible water bowl, along with poop bags in case your dog decides he needs an impromptu bathroom break.
Teach Your Dog to Lay on a Mat
Training your dog to lay on a mat that you bring when dining at a restaurant will keep him from bothering other diners and servers and make the experience more comfortable for him.
Do Not Share Your Meal
Check whether the dog-friendly restaurant you are visiting has a special dog menu. If not, occupy him with a favorite long-lasting chew while he is on his mat. You should never feed a begging dog as this only makes the bad behavior more persistent.
